Latest (Jackets, Pants, Boots, Socks, Gloves, and Hats) distribution for 300 Children

Villages of Ccorao, Challhua Cocha, Chupani, Wayroncoyoc Pampa and Tiupunku August 2017

Sanctuary of Universal Love, Inc. d/b/a Path of the Heart (POTH) is immensely grateful to have received a grant from the Shapiro Family Foundation and other donors to be used for providing Jackets, Pants, Boots, Socks, Gloves, and Hats to 300 children (Boys and Girls) in the communities of Ccorao, Challhua Cocha, Chupani, Wayroncoyoc Pampa and Tiupunku, which is located in the District of Urubamba, Cusco and Ollantaytambo in the region of Cusco - Peru in 2017. Our initial goal was to serve  275 Kids of these communities with Jackets, Boots, Socks, Gloves, and Hats.  This project has achieved that goal and much more, and we are happy.

We have traveled at 3:00 AM to these communities, because they are very far away and very cold and that time of the day, the grass, plants, and water are frozen. It is impossible to touch the water or to be outside, on the way lots of communities with children needs our support, that means thousands of kids are in that extreme conditions and they are all ages.

I am happy that we have served the various communities in the Andean region of the Andes with food and solar panels, computers for schools and educational materials. Weavers, farmers, and thousands of families have benefited in the different communities throughout the 18 years that we have been involved in Peru.

These are the children in this community walk for 2 - 3 hours each way to their school from their estancias or lomas (homes). Because they live deep in the Andean mountains, it is impossible for them to live together as they have to raise their animals such as lamas, Sheep and alpacas in enough space for them to eat Grass. These clothes were made with love and great energy by the women that are incredible too, as they worked hard to provide us with the clothes we needed for the children on time.
It was a challenge to deliver all this items and thanks to All Path of the heart Members In Peru (Pammela, Victoria, Helene, Elizabeth, Tito, Bertha, Gladis, The driver Juan, Etc) as well to all Path of the Heart members in the US for the incredible Support. These kids all speak Runa Simi the Language of our ancestors the Incas, which I speak (Washi)

With these Clothes, the children will be warmer and make thru the year and more and have opportunities in their future, as they are going to study warm in their classes, know they can do homework and interact with their families in the evenings and mornings.

I traveled to the communities and saw how dangerous it is to travel there because of the treacherous roads. There are 1000 Valleys in Peru and in each of them there are other 1000 smaller ones with thousands of Communities, This is a good way we improve its effectiveness in the communities and its members.

Presently, we have received a list of kids that are ill and they want our support and they are 25 kids between Girls and Boys, same needs Jackets, Pants, Boots, Socks, Gloves, and HatS. Is this possible to support them? Some of these communities don’t appear on the Peruvian Maps. But POTH is finding them thanks to our Peruvian collaborators who are amazing Support to all the projects like this one, as well Alicia Kozuch have been to so many of them and have the knowledge and the practice of this kind of traveling and service (Thanks, Alicia).

We extend our sincere thanks to members of the Foundation. We are truly grateful for your support and your grant which has made a real difference in these children and thousands of lives in Peru and its communities.
With love and Gratitude always,
