Support Path of the Heart COVID-19 Emergency Food Micro-Project
As the world suffers through the COVID 19 pandemic, our families high in the Andes are very hard hit. Most families rely on cash income from the tourism industry, which has absolutely stopped. Total lockdown has been in place since March, and the poor families in remote villages are desperate to get any sort of food they can. Starting from April 28th, 2020 Path of the Heart has delivered 650 nutritional food packages with the top 10 types of food to the families in the communities in the Sacred Valley - Ollantaytambo. Volunteers on the ground made it possible to prepare the packages safely and following prevention procedures ordered by the government.We are grateful for those offering support. Given the extension of the Health Emergency in Cusco until September 07, and with Peru being among the top 10 countries in the world with the most cases of Corona-virus, we would like to continue to deliver food-aid baskets of basic products to these beautiful families in the highlands. We know that you have your own challenges in your families and society and we hope that soon we will all be in a better place.
